Lots of people have said it was going to be fierce since Max Martin had anything to do with it, yet they say it sounds a lil IUSA but also too rave-ish, and some of you are not thrilled according to facebook and twitter…yet. It will grow on you, it always does.

It’s amazing! The sound is modern, finally a proper club track, exactly what she needed, and the lyrics! Well, Britney, you have outdone yourself! Thanks to Max M too, he too has raised the bar. I’m telling you, this is going to be a huge track.

Now, guys, how do you see the VIDEO? I’m thinking fast, frenetic, different looks and some tight chereo! She’d be wise to keep away from too much of a literal approach, but I’m sure many around the world wouldn’t mind a bit of Girl-Girl-Boy action or beter yet B-B-Britney, it would just be porn. Hopefully she has a kickass concept and that doesn’t involve horses.

One wonders if this tack of pursuing the same old same old in terms of commercial provocation showcases Britney in her best light, or leaves her in danger of becoming artistically shallow. Let’s face it, the lyrics leave a lot to be desired. They sound as easy as, well, 1-2-3. But it’s one for the dance floor I guess (and perhaps the bedroom for those having threesomes) Looking forward to the next hit. Wonder what that one will be about? Anal sex? S&M? Lesbian orgies? Sex on a Louisiana tractor? Me suspects the eagerly awaited Singles Collection will show the gulf between the classics and, erm, this one.

I think she’s allowed to have fun and she’s allowed a song about threesomes! I would be suprised if her next hit is about her tits or something, but as this may be the last single for a while she wants to be remembered, at least in the short term (like 8-12 months) and lay the groundwork for more new work. Remember, sex always sells and it does linger a bit more in the conscious than a ballad about what’s his face.
The song is fabulous. It’s a definite club thumper, and has top of the billboard qualities. I really hope it makes it to the top.
@ SteveDennis, I don’t think we need to analyze everything Britney does. I don’t like that people take everything she does, and then compares it to something else, or something someone did, or whatever. Britney is putting out a track that is fun, fresh and is just a chill song. It ruins the vibe to over analyze and it say she is copying Madonna, or try to call her shallow. She’s not shallow. Let her do her thing. I read your book, I ordered it to Canada beginning of June. I very much enjoyed it, but a lot of the time I excaimed an “OH PLEASE!!” Sometimes, you tried to dig deeper for the meaning of some of Britney’s actions, and as much as you claimed to understand Britney as the person and not the performer, you portrayed her as an open book; something of which you let every human being stick a magnifying glass to and have a good look. And that, is pretty dehumanizing.
I was on the bus on the way to Washington D.C when I heard this, this morning. I went into a frenzy…and i got dizzy and almost fainted. It keeps getting better!
Some points I’d like to make are the use of “Peter Paul and Mary”
The use of their names seems meaningless…the only reason I see that they did this is for controversy. Controversy is what spreads the word…

-This is Britney’s singing career and should not be linked with her parental abilities. I’m a student. What happened if I failed a test? So it’s bad…whether I succeed has no baring on how good of a person I am. I could fail that test and go home and play with an abused puppy I adopted. The failed test has nothing to do with the puppy and shouldnt be linked. (I understand my example is a little weird, but you get the jist…right?)
It’s ok….like PB said, it will grow on you. I think it’s a little high pitched, I like Britney’s voice an octave lower. As for the lyrics, they are no worse than the rest of her songs, they all have sexual references. We’ll see… I don’t think it will be a Womanizer or Piece of Me hit, but what do I know???? Well – I LOVED 3 from the moment I heard it , super catchy and just what I want from my Britney! Fast and a little raunchy! haha!! Hopefully when she does make a video its not like Radar and its right on with the song. My favorite songs are the up beat ones- the ones I can workout to , dance to and get happy about. Dont get me wrong I love her ballads but there is something about our girl when she sings a fast tempo song. And I love when its dirty! haha. Britney has never asked to be a role model and I think its a little crazy to try to make her out to be one because shes a mom or kids listen to her music. That comes down to the parents. There are songs that my little girls are not allowed to listen to and thats that. I dont blame an artist for singing about threesomes or sex or whatever, thats there buisness and there out there doing there thing. I’m pretty conservative myself, but if a song is catchy, its catchy. Everyone is entitled to their opinions always, but Britney always gets more scruitiny because she’s a woman, a very famous woman.
Her actions will always be put under a microscope, and many people will always make comments good or bad.

I am enjoying the new single! It’s just I, personally, am like a monster when it comes to her music. She inspires me to do so many creative things and I appreciate her for her influences in my life…but I go through her music so fast, it’s insane. It’s the same Chorus over and over and over again with a bridge or verse here and there. It’s too easy. It’s not like I expect anything else from my doll ; I just need something challenging! The last challege I remember was “Me Against the Music.” This music video will be hotter than the devils asshole in July though. I can see it coming! I’m predicting alot of Orange, Yellow and Pink with Winds blowing everywhere and dancers as far as the eye can see – kind of like a Fanta commercial XP
You know now I’ve had a few days to take the song in, my opinion of it has changed. It is great to have new music and I’m grateful for it and I do love it! I think it works well, but I have a niggling feeling it could have been better with a bit more time in the studio. I get the impresison it was rushed. The actual framework of the song is brilliant but I think some more bass, some different beats and more detail would have made it a rival to toxic! Still adore her though
