I’m all for new talent but if you are going to try and compare Lady GaGa to Britney Spears then be prepared for a backlash from her fans.
Lady Gaga is talented- I will give her that. But why are people comparing her to Britney? She isn’t the Princess of Pop as PEErez likes to claim she is. She’s a pop entertainer but the iconic status of Princess of Pop comes from Britney being the first to break onto the scene after the Madonna years.
Lady Gaga is more of a freakshow and shock and awe performer- like a Marilyn Manson type, not a Britney type. People adore Britney because they connect with her on such an emotional level. Lady Gaga has so many distractions and props that its hard to get past all that and connect to the human behind the act.
When she first started, she sorta had me interested when she wore the blond bows of hair and leotards because she was interesting yet still semi-attractive. Now she is like something out of the Rocky Horror picture show and its getting worse with all sorts of blood, baby powder, underpants on her head, etc. etc. Its all too forced and too much and it loses the artist behind the bullshit.
I have no issue with Lady G having her own space in the music business but if you are going to compare her to Britney then you will take a verbal beating and a massive side eye from loyal Britney fans. Yeah, I said it. MASSIVE SIDE EYE!
That said, here is a fantabulous article on the NYPost that had PEErez saying ‘Dear NYPost, Fuck you!”, on his twitter. Ah whats the matter, don’t like people bashing your icon? Hows it feel?!!

Honestly, PB I’m getting tired of hearing about her? Like I care about Britney, Gag doesn’t even cross my mind, but people keep bringing it up with regards to Britney.

When I think of gaga, what comes to mind is a tragedy, like a tragic ending in a movie. She tries so hard to be emotional and tragic all the time that its the only thing I think of now when she comes to mind. That’s not a great way to draw in fans.
I’m sure she’s a lovely songwriter but an entertainer? She is TOO TOO TOO desperate for ratings and it shows. Thinking of her is about as fun as a pap smear although required.
