This ridiculous lip sync drama has flooded my news feeds for 4 days now, and it seems to be building rather than dying off. Go on any website today that caters to gossip and every one of them is recycling the Britney lip sync drama with many of them claiming that 200 fans did indeed walk out.
Over 18,000 people came to the show so 200 is like one person leaving. It really is no big deal, but the media is making it seem like Britney is Milli Vanilli 2.0. and insinuating that patrons were not told that she’d be lip syncing. The story itself would carry little interest to the public if it were anyone but Britney, but she brings the headlines so the story is getting massive coverage.
A website called the Punch in Australia wrote an article basically telling Aussies to chilax as to avoid sending Britney into another nervous breakdown saying;
Whoa whoa whoa! Australia, hold up. Let’s tread carefully here… do we really want to induce another Britney Spears meltdown? Because that’s what we’re skirting with this teacup tempest over the somewhat faded pop star’s decision to lip sync the bulk of each stop on her current concert tour.
I feel bad for Brit that after 8 months of nonstop high power performances with fans loving every second of the shows they attended, that this is how the show will be remembered. It doesn’t matter if its true or if its been inflated, it taints the huge success that the Circus was for the past 8 months.
Sure the fans know they love her, but the masses of people consuming this information are being led to believe she is a washed up starlet unable to carry out simple singing at her shows when in fact that isn’t the case at all.
People who don’t follow her as closely as fans are being led to believe that she is not doing a good job on the tour when in fact fans cant get enough of the Circus. Europe is begging for her to come back again, starting a drive on Facebook to bring the Circus back to o2 again.
Its very successful and hopefully more people will realize that this lip sync drama is completely overblown.
Everything with Britney is completely overblown. I feel so bad for her.
i feel really bad for cheeto girl. its just not fair! all the love, the excitement, the succes of the tour in 8 months is destroyed by summ stupid verblown drama. Aussie’s (only the haters) are really gettin into my nerves! I think Britney is feelin like crap right now, i mean, they fucked her succes. thank u australia.
My opinion on this might surprise a few, bc I love love Britney.
But I think this drama is a GOOD thing. Why?
Because I think the only way for Britney or her team to want to improve herself is w/ criticism – especially from fans.
She needs to gain confidence in singing to secure a legacy that isn’t tarnished by a reputation of lipsynching, because at the end of the day, call her what you want, Britney is essentially a singer.
That doesn’t mean that reading all this negative news is sucky to read, because it is for the reasons PB expressed.
However, the only way Madonna, Ashlee Simpson, etc changed was because of the flack. And Britney is finally receiving ENOUGH of it to start to care. Well at least I hope. Her dancing ability can’t be used as a crutch, especially for a song like Everytime, where she is SITTING DOWN. She has the ability to change, she ain’t no Milli Vanilli who had others sing for them in the studio.

The media loves to hate her, but they love to love her too.
If she changes the flack will be transferred to another celebrity who is lipsynching. The headlines will be: “Ironic Twist: Beyonce Lipsyncs at the VMA’s while Britney doesn’t…”
C’mon guys, love her enough to know what’s good for her.

I wasn’t going to comment but I have to know that there is even a freaking Entertainment Weekly article about it.
This whole thing is ridiculous, especially because in this day and age every.single.artist. does it. I don’t condone Britney for it because she doesn’t even try to fool us. I mean, she’s so lazy that the girl doesn’t even bother to have pre-recorded. But I do think is extremely ridiculous that Britney is getting bombarded all over the world -it seems- for this when actual singers such as Mariah Carey (most obvious case if you ask me), Celine Dion, Beyonce (yes gurl we all know you do it) and Christina (who canceled her summer tour in 2002 if I’m not mistaken due to the tiny little fact that she hurt her vocal chords while recording the live version of her songs) do it all the time.
And the funny thing is that even to this day I have yet to see videos of the 200 people that left the show complaining about it besides that one Australian writer.
I love her. I mean, I flew 2,000 miles to see her this past March, but we can all agree that she can at least sing with a back-up track songs like Ooh Ooh Baby/Hot As Ice when she’s just there on a magician box doing nothing, or the breakdown of Circus, or the Sound Off after boys, or Womanizer since she’s just doing poses during the whole performance. There’s no excuse for Britney being that lazy or for this causing such an useless ordeal.

He just took that quote from the news feeds hours after it was out. FAIL again. I didn’t post it because she really didn’t say much. I mean it was so not a big statement, she only said
“I hear there is a lot of controversy in the media about my show. Some reporters have said they love it and some don’t. I came to Australia for my fans!”
She always says that. Its safe. Just say its about the fans and that’s an easy way to address it. What I don’t like is that he acts like its breaking news when its been on google news for hours and nobody even cared.
