Pearl Jam took time to pick on Britney Spears during their recent concert in Australia according to Splash News.
Pearl Jam kicked off their Australian tour in the shadow of Britney Spears, making a reference to lip-syncing before a crowd of 30,000 people. The band’s front man, Eddie Vedder, reportedly told the audience at Perth’s Members Equity Stadium that he would be lip-syncing and that according to some new rules under consideration, he would do the right thing and confess to the fact in advance.
He also joked that he would use the miming opportunity as an excuse to knock back some wine and enjoy a cigarette. Then he let rip without a sound before turning the microphone towards the crowd to allow them to take over singing Pearl Jam classics such as Daughter, Alive and Better Man.
A local review of the concert in the western coastal city where Spears began her Circus tour, reported: “Pearl Jam kicked off their Australian tour with a slick performance in Perth, which gave the crowd a taste of the band’s newest offerings whilst rocking out all the old favourites.
“The week after Britney Spears started her Australian tour at the Burswood Dome with a concert big on lip-syncing and short on audience interaction, Eddie Vedder demonstrated just how a real, charismatic and talented musician conducts a gig.”
Excuse me bitch, did Britney ever claim to be a “real musician”. No. She’s a pop entertainer which means she puts on an extravagant show and she can sing.
That’s okay, we can take it because while they may sing live, no one on earth has any idea what they’re actually saying. Either the lead singer has shattered glass in his mouth or he’s having a black out.
