Besides Dollface who is just magic sparkles to my ears, I have a pretty wide range in music- taste wise. I don’t listen to much rap at all except old school Em (I still love him so shut up), I love- and I mean LOVE Slipknot, and I ADORE Marilyn Manson. Buddy Guy (If you haven’t heard Feels Like Rain, you’re missing out) moves me like you cant believe, and Nat King Cole is as pure as it gets. Rupaul is my drug when I want to feel like a drag queen, which is every 3rd Tuesday.
I don’t go for every new singer that steps out on the scene and nowadays that’s like every 15 minutes. Sure I love the addictiveness of Tik Tok by Ke$ha and I RA RA RA RA RA RA with the best of them from Lady Gaga, but I’ll never buy their music. I don’t know why but I wont. A musician has to have something ultra special for me to actually want to open my wallet and purchase their music. So far Britney and the ones I’ve mentioned are the only ones I’d pay for.
Today I saw Peerez pushing a band on his website, because you know he thinks he’s a music mogul, and he uses his blogging platform to try and sell records (on his label) while bashing celebrities at the same time — which if you ask me, the gossip is a front to gather the masses so he can push products. Cant blame him for that, but somehow he’s so sneaky about lining his pockets that I’m sure his intelligent readers feel duped.
Anyway, besides Gaga I think his music taste in in his ass along with other various things, and I don’t think he has a musical ear at all. I remember him trying to push Slimy and a few other people and I couldn’t even make it 30 seconds through the video clips.
The band he posted today is currently touring with Gaga so I thought “hmph! maybe they are something really special to get that gig”. I had a look and a listen and in usual Perez fashion, I was disappointed. It felt contrived and bland, AND the lead singer’s look explains the look PeeRez has been trying to emulate for months now.
If he can find musical talent then so can we, except we think this band is amazing, unusual and deeply talented. If it wasnt for my reader Nikki, I wouldnt even know who this guy is, and thanks to her, he’s my new obsession.
