I thought I would post the interview that Steve Dennis did with Good Day LA.
As you may remember, Steve Dennis is the author of Britney Spears; Inside the Dream. Whether you agree with unauthorized biographies or not, its an interesting video and he touches on who he turned to to understand Britney and to go into the person, not just the performer.
I love what he has to say about her. He’s gotten some heat from her fans because they feel he doesn’t know her, but to that I say, look at what he had to say about her – he doesn’t claim to know her. He talks about her great spirit and how endearing she is. He doesn’t try to go into an area of just spicy headlines to grab readers, he talks about how she’s come back from the brink and what she may face once the tour is over, along with how much she has had to deal with.
I think he shows her in an incredible light (in his book writings) and shows exactly why people love her so much.

Wow.. I think he’s very insightful about Britney. Very much enjoyed watching that.
I’m not even going to watch this, it’s a gut feeling but I just don’t believe anything he says.
he’s not even saying anything negative about her.
@ PP people love to hate him just because they think he doesnt know her. Newsflash- the paps use her everyday and never show her in a positive light as he did. I enjoyed that damn book.
Eh, I like how he talks about her, but he does claim to know things about her and it isn’t confirmed truth.
He said she wasn’t with Jason, and that is not true.
Everything with a grain of salt.
Good or bad doesn’t matter I just don’t believe him, like I said it’s a gut feeling I don’t know why but he’s give me Samish vibes.
@Joanna
Stop trying to look for evil in everyone. I am confident your gut feeling is wrong.
I am with Joanna. Now he knows all about her love life? I hate how he acts like a Britney expert. Sounds like a more positive version of the tabloid press.
I agree with Joanna on this one
i’m not saying he’s 100 percent legit or on the money about everything he says in the book but people seem to just want to tune him out because his version of britney isn’t the one fans have created in their minds about her. she does have lots of issues that just didn’t go away because she went on a world tour.
yo, have you ever thought that when steve said what he did regarding their relationship that they weren’t dating? maybe they still aren’t, maybe they just started, maybe it’s not serious, etc.
Guys, too many negativities in here,
Yes he did write that kinda what-people-suppose-to-know-about-Britney, but he did it in a better way.
I find this entertaining, sometimes u cant even know ur self better than another people do,
We see britney through his eyes, his perspective, thats another way for us to know more bout britney,
I’m a fan of her, a die-hard fan since i was 8, i got all her albums n her videos, but it doesnt mean i know britney better than the author of this book,
Somethings u cant see things through ur own eyes, u need other one’s to see things better, thats my opinion.
Well, i dont see this guy drugging n taking benefit from Britney like samrat n adnuts did,
Its a piece of work, u better read the book before give those damn stupid superficial thougts.
@ Darcy 1. There is evil in everyone and 2. http://i40.tinypic.com/21j88t5.jpg
thanx PB for this post – seems an age ago now!
Always interested to read the feedback and I appreciate that not everyone is going to ‘get it’. I put something out there for the consideration of others. How it’s received was always going to be a subjective matter. But I’ll add this:
On the content, I am but the mere messenger. This book was informed by family friends, true confidantes and back-stage allies…many of whom hadn’t spoken before. The insights, therefore, are not wholly mine but from the people who know her best. Truly know her. So it’s not me who has to be believed. They each decided to co-operate because they wished to contribute to a compassionate portrait of Britney, and one which looked through her eyes and walked in her shoes.
As for the psychotherapy input, I was keen to bring in this dimension because, whilst such a vicarious analysis cannot replace a definitive 100% one on one evaluation, it provides a near-as-dammit and previously absent explanation that meets the ‘balance of probability’ test. It again fosters compassion and empathy. Many who know Britney agree with the findings.
I have never professed to be the all-knowing Britney expert. I have never professed to know her either. I’m a biographer who has provided one version of a compelling story involving a truly unique character.
I don’t quite understand the take of people like @Joanna but she’s entitled to her intransigent view. As Britney herself says, there’s more than one side to her story. This was merely one version…informed by the expertise of friends. I move onto my next project now. The paperback will be out in May 2010. And I’d like to thank you, PB, for all your support and everyone else who took the time to read this work and appreciated its intentions.
Warmest wishes, Steve
I think, Steve, you’re just right about her not having had much experience of living a normal life. But it’s kind of a vicious circle when she is not free again and can’t find her place in the world. She is still a successful performer but what’s happening in her life except for that?
Conservatorship and control, restricted visitation (which is the best option she can have under these circunstances) can’t give her space for self-development, I believe. What happens if she regains her freedom? And what happens if not? We can never know, no one, even if a psychiatrist who would know her personally can’t be sure.
Only G-d knows that.
I think he’s right. It’s so close to what I think about her life.

I agree with Joanna on this one to…
oh @joanna how your gifs crack my ass up.
@Steve- I can only speak to my opinion and I enjoyed the book because you were so thoughtful of her throughout. I didn’t find it over dramatized or sensational but rather just another perspective of her. I enjoyed having something to read about her over just rag mags. At least your book made me think and was interesting. I take it for what it is- a book.
@Tony good points as well.
i hope steve doesn’t abandon us completely!i find his comments on britney quite insightful, he’s gotten closest to her people then any of us ever will!
good luck on your new project, steve.
